Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) combined with compound ketoconazole ointment in the treatment of chronic hypertrophic eczema of the lower leg. Methods: 84 cases of chronic hypertrophic eczema of the calf were randomly divided into two groups: 42 cases in the treatment group were treated with compound ketoconazole ointment and Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) for 3 weeks; 42 cases in the control group were treated with compound ketoconazole ointment twice a day (once in the morning and once in the evening) for 3 weeks; the patients were followed up for 12 weeks. Clinical symptoms and signs were scored before and after the treatment, and the efficacy evaluation was based on the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI). The recurrence and adverse reactions were observed and recorded. After the treatment, the clinical signs and symptoms and the area of skin lesions of the treatment group improved more than those of the control group, and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (P<0.05 or P<0.01); the effective rate of the treatment group (90.48%) was higher than that of the control group (59.52%), and the difference between the groups was statistically significant (P<0.01). The recurrence rate of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group (7.14% vs. 42.90%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: The clinical efficacy of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) combined with compound ketoconazole ointment in the treatment of chronic hypertrophic eczema of the lower leg is better than that of compound ketoconazole ointment alone, and the recurrence can be reduced, which is a kind of treatment worthy of clinical popularization.
