Abstract:Objective To investigate the application of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) in the non-surgical repair of diabetic foot ulcer wounds in the elderly. Methods 128 elderly diabetic foot patients were randomly divided into the experimental group (compound polymyxin B group) and the control group (silver sulfadiazine group) according to the different drugs used on the wounds, with 64 patients in each group. Bacterial quantification, wound healing rate and expression of epidermal growth factor were observed and compared between the two groups at 1, 2, 3 and 4 weeks after the start of treatment, respectively. Results (1) The mean value of bacterial quantification of the traumatized tissue of patients in the test group was smaller than that of the control group at 3 weeks after the start of treatment (P<0.05), and significantly smaller than that of the control group at 4 weeks (P<0.01); (2) There was no statistical difference between the traumatized tissue healing rate of the patients of the two groups after the treatment of 1, 2, and 3 weeks, and the healing rate of the traumatized tissue of the test group was significantly higher than that of the control group after the treatment of 4 weeks (P<0.01); (3) After 3 weeks of the treatment of both groups, there was no statistically significant difference in traumatized tissue healing rate of the patients of the two groups. ) There was a statistically significant difference in epidermal growth factor in the wounds of the two groups after 3 weeks of treatment (P<0.05), and the difference was more obvious in the 4th week (P<0.01). Conclusion: Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) is suitable for elderly patients with systemic infection under control but local infection, advanced age, many underlying lesions, and difficult to bear multiple anesthesia for surgical debridement and skin graft closure of wounds, and it is a safe, effective, and simple topical drug for the treatment and repair of diabetic foot ulcer wounds.
