Abstract : Objective To explore the application effect of methotrexate combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) in children with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. Methods 90 children with atopic dermatitis who were admitted to the Department of Dermatology of Jiujiang University Affiliated Hospital and the Pediatric Department of Jiujiang Maternal and Child Health Hospital from December 2018 to December 2020 were selected as research subjects, and they were divided into experimental groups (n= 45) and control group (n=45). The control group was treated with methotrexate, and the experimental group was treated with methotrexate combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin). Compare the changes in serum related indicators [interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-13 (IL-13)] and eosinophil levels, and atopic dermatitis symptom assessment scale between the two groups before and after treatment. (SCORAD) and Eczema Area and Severity Index ( EASI score) improvement, occurrence of adverse reactions after medication, and changes in Children's Dermatology Life Quality Index (CDLQI) score. Results After treatment, serum related indicators such as IL-4 and IL-13 and eosinophil levels in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Methotrexate combined with Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) has a significant effect in the treatment of moderate to severe atopic dermatitis. It can effectively control the serum inflammatory indicators and eosinophil levels in children and significantly alleviate their clinical symptoms and signs. At the same time, the quality of life of children can be significantly improved, and it will not cause serious adverse reactions to children. It is highly effective and safe. It is recommended that it be promoted and applied in clinical practice as appropriate.
