Abstract : Human skin wounds are often formed after burns, surgery, etc. The local wound has poor blood supply, is often accompanied by various bacterial infections, and heals slowly. Surgery combined with dressing changes is usually required for treatment, and local treatment is particularly critical. In recent years, there have been many reports on the use of various growth factors to promote wound healing [1]. Epidermal growth factor (EGF) and its receptors are present in all tissues except hematopoietic tissues. They have a wide range of physiological functions and have a strong mitogenic effect on a variety of tissue cells both in vivo and in vitro. During the wound repair process, EGF receptors can be rapidly upregulated. EGF binds to the receptors and acts on cell growth regulatory genes to promote DNA and RNA repair and protein synthesis, improve wound microcirculation and tissue nutrition status, and promote wound re-epithelialization. The role of recombinant human epidermal growth factor (rhEGF) in the process of tissue repair and regeneration includes chemotaxis, synthesis, secretion, proliferation and differentiation. Its role in promoting wound healing has been fully confirmed in clinical treatment. The main ingredients of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) are polymyxin B sulfate, neomycin sulfate, bacitracin, and lidocaine hydrochloride. It has a broad antibacterial spectrum. Due to the synergistic and additive effects between antibiotics, its antibacterial activity can be greatly enhanced []. In addition, the preparation contains lidocaine hydrochloride, which can relieve the pain of the patient's wound surface []. Similar products of this compound preparation abroad are called triple antibiotic ointment (TA0). It is currently the most widely used and most effective preparation for the prevention and treatment of bacterial skin infections in Europe and the United States []. Topical application of triple antibiotic ointment has a significant effect in reducing scar formation and pigmentation [7]. However, no studies on the combined use of the two have been reported. From June 2010 to November 2013, the author's department used recombinant human epidermal growth factor gel, Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment), and the combination of the two to treat 106 patients with various skin wounds and found that the combined effect of the two was satisfactory .
