Abstract : Objective To observe the clinical effect of Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) combined with compound flumetasone ointment in the treatment of chronic eczema and contact dermatitis. Methods A total of 256 patients with chronic eczema and contact dermatitis who were treated in our center from June 2012 to October 2014 were selected and randomly divided into a study group (128 cases) and a control group (128 cases). The control group was treated with simple compound flumetasone ointment, and the research group was treated with Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) on the basis of the control group. The scores of clinical symptoms such as itching degree, clinical efficacy and recurrence rate 14 and 28 days after treatment were compared between the two groups of patients before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the clinical symptoms of both groups of patients improved, and the scores of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). After 14 and 28 days of medication, the total effective rates of treatment in the study group were as high as 66.4% and 90.6%, which were significantly higher than the 39.8% and 74.3% in the control group (P<0.05). After 28 days of treatment, the recurrence rate of the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion Fonow ointment (Compound Polymyxin B Ointment, Triple Antibiotic Ointment) combined with compound flumetasone ointment can significantly improve the clinical symptoms of patients with chronic eczema and contact dermatitis. The treatment is highly effective and suitable for long-term clinical promotion and application.
