Abstract : Objective: To observe and analyze the effect of modified orally administered Xianfang Huomingyin combined with traditional Chinese medicine and external application of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) on postoperative wound healing in children with perianal abscess (PA). Methods: 120 children with low PA who underwent surgical treatment were selected as the observation subjects, and were divided into the Xianfang Huomingyin group and the ointment external application group, 60 cases each, using the random number table method. Both groups underwent routine incision and drainage, and the ointment external application group underwent routine surgery. Afterwards, they were given homemade traditional Chinese medicine and Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) for external application. The Xianfang Huomingyin group was combined with Xianfang Huomingyin for oral administration on the basis of the ointment external application group. The clinical symptom scores and inflammation-related indicators [white blood cells] were compared between the two groups 2 weeks after surgery. Interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-10 (IL-10), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), C-reactive protein (CRP)] levels , serum pain factors [norepinephrine ( NE), 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), substance P (SP)] levels, wound healing, clinical efficacy and postoperative follow-up recurrence. Results: 2 weeks after surgery, the scores of wound pain, wound secretion, wound edema, and granulation tissue were significantly reduced in both groups (P<0.05). Conclusion: Xianfang Huomingyin modified orally combined with homemade traditional Chinese medicine and external application of Fonow ointment (Compound polymyxin B ointment, Chinese version of Neosporin) can effectively reduce clinical symptoms, inflammatory response and pain after PA in children, and promote wound healing, with significant clinical efficacy.
